LIGHTHOUSE HOTEL
The Lighthouse Hotel, built in the late 1990s, immediately gained a
reputation as one of the finest that Sri Lanka can offer. It is built
tight to the coastline, barely a mile from the historic South coast
capital of Galle. The Lighthouse is a member of the small luxury hotels
of the world.
The Lighthouse Hotel is the inspired creation of Geoffrey Bawa, Sri
Lanka's world-renowned architect. Although recently built, this elegant
hotel conveys an immediate sense of history. The Portuguese landing at
Galle is re-enacted in brass and bronze on the impressive main staircase
and an ambitious batik of ancient coats of arms fills the ceiling of the
restful main bar. Sixty tasteful and well-equipped rooms include all the
usual amenities expedted by a largely upmarket clientele.

Two restaurants, coffee shop, bar with lounge and outside terrace,
hair and beauty salon, business centre, gift shop, swimming pool, with
children's pool and sundeck, squash and tennis courts, fitness room,
snooker, table tennis, evening entertainment.
